Answers from your store, not from thin air
The chatbot uses the same knowledge as the email AI: your synced website content (pages, policies, products, blogs), your knowledge base and live Shopify data. It answers shipping, returns, sizing and product questions with real facts — and it is strictly scoped to your shop. Off-topic requests, prompt tricks and questions about other customers are politely refused, always.
A shopping assistant that sells
Customers can describe what they're looking for in their own words — “a waterproof backpack for laptops under $100” — and the AI searches your catalog and replies with a styled product list: thumbnail, title, price, and a direct link to the product page. Product discovery becomes a conversation.
Order status — with real security
Order information is only ever shown to the customer the order belongs to. Logged-in customers see a clickable list of their own orders and get status, tracking and items for the one they pick. Guests are asked to log in first — the chat shows a login button automatically. This is enforced server-side via Shopify's signed customer session, not by trusting the browser.
Escalation with a paper trail
When a request needs human work, the AI collects the customer's email (or uses the account email), creates a ticket in your supportif.ai inbox and tells the customer their ticket number. The customer receives a confirmation email including the full chat log — the template is editable in the app. Your team continues in the same ticketing workflow used for email support.
Conversations that survive page loads
Chats persist across page changes and reloads. Visitors keep their conversations for 14 days; logged-in customers keep them forever, attached to their account. Reopening the widget shows the last five conversations plus an instant search across all stored chats — and up to five quick-question buttons you configure in the app.
Your brand, your look
Everything visual is configured in the Shopify theme editor: floating button position (top/middle/bottom × left/center/right), sizes, border radius, a custom icon and flat colors for bars, text and highlights. Simple, minimal, no gradients — with soft shadows on chat bubbles. Tone of voice, extra instructions and quick prompts are managed in the app under Settings → Chatbot.
